A.V.S. RAJA – CO-FOUNDER AND PROMOTER, SHRIRAM GROUP COMPANIES
Quitting his Indian Railways job, Mr. Raja founded the Shriram Group in the year 1974 along with Mr. R.Thyagarajan and Mr. T.Jayaraman. He was instrumental in taking the group from being a startup to growing it into a group of stature. His silver coin medallion campaign changed the face of Shriram in a competitive chit fund space winning the hearts of the people in South India. Social and Community focus won the trust and made it a house hold name.
Today Shriram has a turnover of over Rs. 60,000 crores, 9.5 million clients served by more than 45,000 employees through 2400 Branches across India.
Mr. Raja serves as an advisor to the group and the Chairman of Shriram Vyapar.
S.SATHYAMOORTHY (FORMER DY COMPTROLLER AND AUDITOR GENERAL OF INDIA)
Retired as Deputy Comptroller and Auditor General of India in 2004, Mr. Sathyamoorthy is an alumni of Loyola College Chennai in the commerce stream. He went to Birmingham University United Kingdom for a masters in Development Finance which he negotiated with a Distinction. Later Govt of India seconded him to York University for a diploma on Globalization issues. He was also nominated to Tokyo Audit Forum and INTOSAI workshop in Oslo.
For the last 7 years he is working on World Bank projects in Dehradun, Kabul,Jordan,Dhaka and Juba the youngest country in the world.
SUDHAKAR RAJA – CEO, SHRIRAM VYAPAR
He holds a bachelors degree in Accounting from Loyola College and a masters degree in Computer Applications from University of Madras. He also underwent a one year executive program in IIM Bangalore on Entrepreneurship.
Mr. Sudhakar started his career Covansys (USA) as PeopleSoft consultant and went on to join KPMG LLP as a strategy consultant. His clients included Ford Motor Company, California Public Employees Retirement System and Intel Corporation to name a few. He created the business and revenue model for Intel's Rex PDA product in 1999 that won the appreciation from the client and the heads of KPMG. He later joined Oracle Corporation in 2000 to lead several strategic initiatives in Oracle eBusiness suite. He created partnerships with ABN Amro, Citi Bank, Deutche Bank and HSBC for the Oracle iPayment platform that won him acclaim in Oracle. He quit his job in Oracle to start a social enterprise teaching math for the "at risk" poor and failing school students as a part of the No Child Left Behind Program( A US government initiative). In 2008 he returned to India to join Shriram General Insurance as its Chief Information Officer. His open source and bleeding edge initiatives in Shriram General Insurance saved the company many a million to make it profitable in its start up stage. He was instrumental in bringing the company back online after an IOC fire crisis struck its head office which won the appreciation of all. His innovative initiatives to eliminate cover notes still continue to save the company millions by reducing fraud.
Shriram Vyapar was formed after understanding the Indian market for over 5 years at the grass root level by talking to agents while in Shriram General Insurance and from his own personal experience in doing the transactions.
